Unraveling

What lessons can the ocean offer us on untethering ourselves from a turbulent past and dystopic future? Honoring and in conversation with the work of Michaela Harrison, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, and Christina Sharpe, Unraveling is an invitation to recognize that time is fluid, to be in flow, to remember to breathe and to break out of the hold. This performance is a reminder that we are not separate from the past, nor the future. The past influences the choices we make and each choice we make builds the future. It is an invitation to consider what we are anchoring to, how we are moving through time, how we can practice presence and where we can find beauty and hope, even in moments of struggle.
