This photograph series contains images of probate documents from 1861 that include the inventory featured in my video work, Isaiah’s Inventory/Searching for Junior. The documents are paired with landmarks and monuments of the same family’s home county. These diptychs create portraits that explore the relationships between religion, government, kinship, and ownership.
